Roles of a Consumer Advocacy Panel

Consumer advocacy panels are formed by consumers to help them deliver their grievances easily to production companies. The panels work to make sure that the consumers are always happy. They make sure that their grievances are heard through safe means thus avoiding any unnecessary conflicts with the government. Here are some of the important roles played by the consumer advocacy panels.

Promote the interests of Consumers

Consumers at times suffer overpricing of goods from large companies. It is difficult to raise this issue on their own especially to large companies. The panel comes in and talks to such companies about the consumers’ needs. The panels may put to effect even greater tactics if the need arises. The consumer advocacy panels see to it that products have a warranty. This business policy enables a customer to return a product if it gets damaged within a short period after its purchase.

Protect Consumers

Consumers need protection from some producers. Some companies produce products which are of very poor quality. Consumers are not pleased with such products. Such products sometimes end up affecting the health of the consumers. Consumer advocacy panels have to air such claims to the production companies through legal means.

Some production companies pollute the environment. The panels are also tasked to report such grievances to the companies. The companies should come to an understanding with the consumer advocate panels to continue carrying out business effectively.

Expose Unfair Business Practices

Businesses should be conducted through fair means. Consumers should not be harassed to buy a certain product. In case of an event like that, proper channels should be used to raise the matter with the production company. The panels can express such grievances through boycotts or a lawsuit. Production companies should also not taint other products to have people buying their products. This is seen mostly in large business companies.
